Ballinger Equipment Selected for $500M Midwest Infrastructure Project
PV-350 pavers, CT-180 cranes, and BD-850 dozers to accelerate delivery with lower fuel burn and higher uptime.
CHICAGO, IL — The joint venture behind a $500 million Midwest transportation corridor has awarded Ballinger Industries the primary equipment supply contract for earthmoving, lifting, and paving operations.
The project will deploy a mixed fleet of BD-850 bulldozers, EX-420 excavators, CT-180 all-terrain cranes, and PV-350 pavers. Ballinger’s telematics platform will provide real-time visibility into productivity, fuel consumption, and maintenance health across the corridor’s multiple job sites.
“Our ability to deliver uptime and fuel savings was decisive,” said Mac Allen, COO of Ballinger Industries. “With predictive maintenance and 24/7 parts logistics, the JV gains a schedule and cost advantage from day one.”
Scope of Supply
- 20× BD-850 bulldozers for mass grading and haul road construction
- 18× EX-420 excavators for trenching and bridge foundation work
- 12× CT-180 cranes for precast placement and structural steel erection
- 10× PV-350 pavers for highway surfacing with smart screed automation
Support & Uptime
Ballinger’s Great Lakes Equipment Center will stage parts and field technicians near the project. Predictive maintenance alerts will be monitored jointly by the JV and Ballinger uptime specialists, enabling planned service windows that avoid critical path interruptions.
